Today the control circuit of power electronics is to realize computer control of high frequency switches. It is developed in the direction of higher frequency, lower consumption and full digitalization. FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Arrays) is a new type of IC(Integrated Circuit) in recent years. It has advantages of compactness, economy, high speed, low consumption, full integration and good applicability. It is easy to be developed and be maintained. FPGA has higher frequency and faster speed in comparison with MCU and DSP. These advantages conform to the need of power electronics' control circuits developing in the direction of high frequency and complication increasingly. So this type of apparatus was developed and applied in more and more fields. The paper introduces design of PWM control circuit based on FPGA. This circuit can produce multiple-path PWM pulses. It has advantages of modular switch frequency and delay time , simple interface, fast response , flexible modifiability and programming on line. It can be applied to soft-switching circuit. The realization of the project was discussed in detail, including control of A/D sample, realization of PI arithmetic, generation of PWM waveforms and principle of modules.A novel ZCT-PWM Boost converter was proposed. The operation of the proposed converter is analyzed in detail. The digital general PWM controller was used to control this soft-switching Boost. The perfect results of experiment are given. The results of the experiment demonstrate validity and feasibility of the controller and the converter.
