The mysterious Qinhai-Tibet Plateau gestated the same mysterious Tibetan Buddhism. Since Buddha was introduced to the land of Qinhai-Tibet Plateau which is called "The roof of the world"in the 7th century B.C, the land was still the world of primal Benbo. The Buddha came from India and the area of the Han nationality conflicted and introjected with Benbo in this land, and then it integrated the soul of Tibetan traditional culture to come into another part of Buddha: Tibetan Buddhism. Tibetan Buddhism went invariably from strength to strength in Qinhai-Tibetan Plateau. As a neonatal and vital culture, it must be spreaded abroad to circumjacent area and it came into be the three summits of Tibetan Buddhism spreading. The inner part, the middle part and the outer part of the culture circle of Tibetan Buddhism whose core is called Ui-Tsang gradually came into be its forming. Geographically, the west plateau of Sichuan is belong to the east part of Qinhai-Tibet Plateau. Since the cordilleras and rivers tends toward a north-south disposition in this area, it was a large migrating channel which the minorities in the northwest China came into the west plateau of Sichuan a long time ago. When Tubo risen in Qinhai-Tibet Plateau, its force developed quickly from west to east. So there is not only the many branches of Tibetan which we called Khanggba Tibetan, Ando Tibetan, Jiarong Tibetan , Baima Tibetan but also the Han, Hui, Qiang nationalities live in the west plateau of Sichuan and the mixing of nationalities resulted in the mixing of culture. The interaction of the culture of Tibetan Buddhism, the local culture of the west plateau of Sichuan and the culture of the Han nationality coming from the east caused to the transitional texture of the culture. So we can say that the west plateau of Sichuan is a transitional area from inner part to middle part of the culture circle of Tibetan Buddhism. The culture here has the mixing and transitional characters. Tibetan Buddhism monastery which had the unusual place in the local society related closely with economy, politics and culture in the west plateau of Sichuan. So Tibetan Buddhism Monastery could reflect the culture characters in this area and the buildings in Tibetan Buddhism monastery which is a kind of physical carrier in culture can visually incarnate these culture characters. There are a lot of building types in Tibetan Buddhism monastery. They are the main buildings which are including to Cuoqin, Lakhang, Zacang and printing house, the residential buildings which are Nangqian, Zakhang and the other structures like Field of debating on scriptures and Tallinn. We can say that these buildings and structures in Tibetan Buddhism monasteriy involve about all the types of buildings and it is very complex. This thesis gives analysis of the site selection and layout, space configuration, structure and fabric, color and decoration of the buildings of Tibetan Buddhism monastery in the west plateau of Sichuan from large to small , micro to macro, group to individual and general to special. This thesis is try to generalize and summarize these building's characters of Tibetan Buddhism monastery in the west plateau of Sichuan and acutely elucidates its main points. The research mode and framework of this thesis are established for the particular subject of the building of Tibetan Buddhism monastery in the west plateau of Sichuan.
