Lhasa, which located in the west of the Lhasa River Valley, is an ancient city with a history of more than 1300 years. Up to now, Lhasa still maintains the old and valuable Monasterial architecture what is a representation of Tibetan spirit and Buddhism culture. The city has always under the influence of Monasterial architecture of Tibetan Buddhism what is very important compared with other kinds of architecture such as palace. During the long years of formation and development of the city, the historical architecture is used as valuable buildings. By means of investigating this kind of fossil, revealing the development of art and culture, life and faith in Tibet.This text is composed of a six chapters. Chapter 1 explains the purpose and meaning of the topic and the structure of the thesis; the second introduce the history and culture of Lhasa. Development of Tibetan Buddhism is summarized in this chapter. Form of Monastery of Tibetan Buddhism are analyzed; The third chapter analyzes the sorts and existence of Monasterial Architecture of Tibetan Buddhism in Lhasa; The fourth chapter analyzes the environment of architecture and the overall arrangement, composing of Monasterial architecture of Tibetan Buddhism is concluded; The five chapter analyzes the architecture space; Then the six chapter analyzes the structure and material.
