Application For Expert System On Operation And Management Of HVDC

HVDC plays a very important role in transmitting electricity from the western region to the eastern in our country and the interconnecting power system.500 kV HVDC is representative of FACTS technology with complicated control and relay system. HVDC equipment mostly concentrates on HVDC conversion stations and is import equipment, but the operation management of the HVDC conversion station still stays to the traditional mode, and highly depends on the technological degree of the staff. It goes against to the safety of management. The thesis has put forward the new thought of settlement to this question. It is useful to improve the operation management level of the HVDC equipment and ensure the security of the electric network. The main contents and conclusions of the paper are as follows:1. Put forward to set up the managing expert system in the 500kV HVDC conversion station, combine operation rules with the expertise, offer the new measure for guaranteeing the safe operation of the southern electric network. This thought can also be popularized to other network.2. Combining the project of the southern network which has already been invest, seting up HVDC model, analysing about typical HVDC equipment function and parameter, operation method and wiring way, etc, and suming them up, then set up DSS knowledge base of the expert systerm.3. Analyse the control of direct voltage and active and reactive power flow, analyse the adjustment of direct current voltage transformer and the problem of overvoltage. By using the DSS knowledge base of the expert systerm, get the corresponding treatment rule, especially get the decision support of direct current equipment fault when operateing the direct current and alternating current at the same time. It supplements the present operationrules.4. The thesis has put forward the scheme of combining the expert system with dispatcher's control system of HVDC. It can realize the information sharing; improve the security of dispatcher's distant control of HVDC.
