With the rapid development of the national economy and improvement of the people's living standard, some large v/ater control engineering start work one after another. Designer initiatively considers the way of buried long-distance water conveyance conduits, because it can be built in any geography without particular requirement for geology condition, and it has advantages in small water leakage loss, simple construction, lower cost, convenient for management and operation. The buried water conveyance conduit gets broadly applied in long-distance water adjusting engineering, it is becoming the artery of the modern industry and the town living. Our country is located in the most active earthquake zone, suffering the most serious earthquake disaster in the world. To ensure these piping safety in futureearthquake has been an important problem. This thesis studies mainly on performing state of those underground piping under the action of earthquake, analyzes the place soil type and earthquake factors. According to the movement characteristics of buried piping under the action of seismic waves, makes use of the vibration and anti-seismic dynamics theories, deduces to the vibration equation of motion and the transmitting coefficient for the interaction between pipes and soils, from which the maximum axial stress and the bending stress in pipelines are derived. The hydrodynamic pressure will occur at the position of pipe end, bend section, three-branch pipe, and pipe junction during earthquake. The influences of parameters such as seismic waves, incident angle, pipe diameter, wall thickness etc. on anti-seismic properties of the buried pipes are discussed through a project (the South to North Water Transfer Centerline Jing-Shi Zone Emergency Water Supply Project). In view of earthquake damage characteristic of the buried pipes, this paper puts forward some effective anti-seismic measures. The earthquake is one of the important reasons of the pipingsystem damage, to analyze the function of the earthquake in the conduit system, ensure safety in conduit system operating, establish the standard operation rules, estimate those damages scientificly, adopt the effective anti-seismic measures in time, can avoid or reduce the loss caused by earthquake, so the anti-seismic analysis of conduit is of current significance.
