In this paper, the cross section's bearing ability of eccentric compressed cylinder member made of lightweight aggregate concrete is researched. Through 6 cylinder members' eccentric compression test, the members' failure status, bearing ability of the cross section and the influence of slenderness ratio, linear eccentricity is researched emphatically. According to the members' failure status, the whole process of which is analyzed. At the same time, based on both experimental analysis and theoretical analysis, an equation of the cross section's supporting value is putted forward and the calculated values were compared with the test results.The experimental results show that there is two major failure characters can be concluded, based on differential liner eccentricity of the lightweight aggregate concrete eccentric compressed cylinder. The first one is tension failure occurred when the cylinder's linear eccentricity is a little big. This failure character is plastic and the bearing ability is mainly decided by the tension strength of the tensile steel and the reinforcement ratio. The second one is compression failure occurred when the cylinder's linear eccentricity is a little small. This failure character is brittle without obviously precaution. The bearing ability is mainly decided by the lightweight aggregate concrete's compression strength. These two failure characters are correspondence with both the whole process analysis in theory and that of common concrete eccentric compressed members. It is also proved through the experiment that the cross section's bearing ability of the lightweight aggregate concrete eccentric compressed cylinder member is decided by the geometry size of the member and the strength of the material, and it has little relationship with the kind of the aggregate. According to the theory, the concrete's strength and elastic modulus of lightweight aggregate are lower than the common one. But through the experiment, the lightweight aggregate concrete, below LC25, is equivalent with the common concrete in the tension strength and elastic modulus. So the cross section's bearing ability of member made of lightweight aggregate concrete have no obviously difference with the common concreteones.The calculated values based on the equation in the paper are largely accord with the experimental results. The equation can be referenced in construction and code designing.
