There are two serious problems against the continual development of Chinese automotive industry. One is environmental pollution; the other is deficiency of petroleum resources. Hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) employing two power sources -internal combustion engine (ICE) and electric motor (EM), has been accepted world-widely as one of the most promising methods to solve these two problems. In Japan, the United States and European countries, governments and automobile manufactures have invested a lot to develop HEVs, HEV components and the key HEV technologies. The Ministry of Science and Technology of China has also set the development of HEVs and HEV components as one of the most important sub-projects in the "863"Program. Jilin University shoulders one the "863"projects –the development of hybrid electric transit bus, together with an automobile manufacturer; another -the development of control system of hybrid electric transit bus power train, alone. There are very complicated structure for hybrid electric vehicle .the optimization of vehicle and the power system is the key question that need to be resolved .the Real-time simulate technology is the important study way to study the vehicle and power system. Considered the above practice requirement of the "863"project, the thesis will mainly study the Real-Time simulate technology of Hybrid Electric Vehicle. The Real-time simulate system take the vehicle controller as the material object , apply the MATLAB/SIMULINK software to build the relating models, make use of DS1103PPC control sheet to finish the relating Real-time simulate and connection ,and use the Control desk software to view, which can realize the following functions such as the controlling system simulate ,adjusting the relating parameter on line , saving and printing the data as well as making the result indicated by picture . 1. Study on software and hardware used in the Real-time simulate platform In the Real-time simulation aspect ,we make use of MATLAB/Simulink and dSPACE as well as Hardware-in-the-Loop etc technology to establish the imitate platform of hybrid electric vehicle ,which provide a comprehensive environment for designing the vehicle and powertrain system and further realization and proving of controlling algorithm.
