The protection of the human cultural heritage and consciousness of traditional style and features of living environment have been strengthened. How to catch the opportunity is particularly important for indoor design to establish the living environment with characteristic of culture of national region.Through the analysis of traditional inhabit mode of interior space and the research of dwelling houses in the south area, this dissertation conclude the basic characteristic and cultural commutation of traditional architecture comprehensively. Meanwhile, by comparing with the trend of existing living environment design and people's demand, it makes feasible analysis of inhabiting indoor environment mode, which coexists the characteristics of times and states and the unity of old and new forms. On the basis of this analysis, from the two great aspects of the ornament factor and physics factor, it points out that it is incorrect to simply copy and imitate some traditional symbols and entities.
