With the continual development and improvement of CAD (computer aided design) technology, and the popularization of modern ideas in 3-D design, it is apparent that the limitation of special software is used in traditional manufacture. At present, the technology of CAD in hydraulic design of pump at home is based on the software of AutoCAD to design 2-D hydraulic model, but it is far more incapable of realizing the automation of design and manufacture in pump, and highly both integration; meanwhile, for the method of similar transformation is widely used in pump company, and for the software of Pro/E which is a parameterize 3-D one is integrated with the function of the CAD, the CAM, and the CAE, the goal of research in the paper is to discuss the setting method and the utilizing of 3-D hydraulic model library of impeller. What has done is as following:1. Based on the analyzing the mechanics of building of NURBS curve and surfaces, utilizing the powerful 3-D modeling function of the Pro/E software, through imputing hydraulic model into Pro/E system, to build the 3-D blade entity.2. Adopting Pro/TOOLKIT that is the development tool of the Objected-Oriented Technology of Pro/E, and the function of family of building model, and using VC++ developing language, to set the hydraulic model library of the blade.3. To testify the application of the hydraulic model library, doing the design of the similar transformation of the impeller blade, and attaining the satisfied result.4. After analyzing the factors that influence the surface quality of the blade that is NC manufactured, using the NC module of Pro/E to simulate the NC manufacture blade process, to certify the correct of factors.
