The domestic and international CAD technological development overview and development trend were summarized, the CAD application and development in manufacturing industry of railway and rolling stock of our country were also introduced, the structure characteristic of passenger train in common uses of our country was studied, the design feasibility and realistic meaning of passenger train in the way of turning 3D into structure parameter method was analyzed.The developing instrument--OPEN Language (Program file) offered in I-DEAS was used as the language of developing, and VISUAL C ++6. 0 MFC was used as the interface developing tool. Under the environment of WINDOWS 2000 / xp and I-DEAS, integrated system of the scheme design and technical design of car body of passenger train has been designed.By mixing the model of life cycle law and the fast prototype law in the course of systematic development, the system has been fully benefited by I-DEAS variable size driving. The passenger train (hard seat car, hard sleeping car, soft sleeping car, soft carriage) of common use was mutually designed by incorporating the parameter and computer graphics, the three-dimensional, level and section pictures were assigned automatically, the scheme design with parameter and automation was realized.On the basis of previous achievement of integrated scheme design, this thesis has mainly carried on the technical design of the passenger train CAD system that means to realize the 3D entity's parameter model of car body structure of passenger train. Meet to the requires of the car body structure design and inheriting the main technical parameter provided in scheme design, the section form of beams, topological position, the beam elements library were built, the whole 3D steel structure of car body of passenger train were produced automatically, and then the finite element model was built, all of these works do a good job on the earlier stage of finite element analysis and structureoptimization afterwards. And the parameter inquiring and revising functions were also provided. And some technological problem of development in the environment of Windows platform and I-DEAS were solved at the same time.This system has well met the scheme design and technical design demand for passenger train; it can improve design efficiency, shorten products design cycle and improve the designing quality of the products. The scheme design, technical design and construction design of 3D can be integrated on the based of this paper.
