The main system of cargo is the main part of VLCC. In order to insure the safety while loading and unloading in cargo running, this paper researches pumps and valves of cargo/ballast system and UPS of electrical system, develops a new equipment of current measuration and develops a monitoring software for them. This thesis derives from the sub-subject "Research and Development of Cargo Load and Unload Operation System" of "Development of Cargo Marine Shape Optimization and Renewed Technology" subject, which is supported by the tenth five-year national project for developing great technical equipment and technology. Its research content bases on APM VLCC which is designed for Danish A.P.NOLLERMAERSK Co. by DNS Co.In this paper, the research of monitoring system of UPS and cargo/ballast system includes mainly two parts: hardware development of measuration equipment and software designing of monitoring and controlling. Develops the current sensor of both sides on the basis of Hall effect of Hall component, design the structure and adjusting circuit of sensor and experiment system, experimentalizes the demarcated circuit of the sensor. The result indicates that the sensor have a good linearity and accords with design requirement. Collects a data collection system, by using the sensor and data collection card. Analyzes the logical status of pumps and valves of the cargo system, which establishes the base of designing the monitoring software of cargo main system. The monitoring and controlling software is developed using the Lab VIEW, which is advanced virtual instrument software platform in the field of measure and control. The function of software includes mainly: data collection module, data processing module, data display module, data storage module and sound alarm module. At the same time, designs a database which is used to store and manage the real-time data and information of alarm. The system designed in this paper, monitors the real-time running status and parameters of the cargo system, gives an sound alarm automatically and saves and prints the information of alarm when there are any malfunction in the system.The result indicates that the monitoring system of the cargo main system works correctly, has a good precision and achieves the expectant goal.
