This paper generalizes superior performance , development and application of high performance concrete, especially of fiber reinforced high performance concrete. Moreover, the autor introduces the research and application of GRC at home and abroad.Firstly, in order to expand the application of high alkali-resistant glass fiber and hybrid fiber reinforced high performance concrete, this paper presents the experimental study on workability, air content, compressive strength and flexural toughness of these concrete. The flexural toughness and fracture energy have been deeply analyzed according to RILEM guidelines. Moreover, the toughness of beams with steel or glass fiber reinforcement and with hybrid fiber reinforcement has been compared. Due to the resist effect of glass fiber on the shrinkage crack, the results show the hybrid fiber can exert two kinds of fiber's advantages and get good hybrid effect. An optimal dosage of the glass fiber is commended by the test results. The paper also concludes that the δ and CMOD have good linear relationship and δ /CMOD shows little dependence on the fiber type and fiber dosage.Secondly, the influences of high alkali-resistant glass fiber and polypropylene fiber on some concrete properties have been studied experimentally. To make a comparison, the same low dosages and the similar lengths of the two types of fibers have been chosen and mixed into normal concrete or SCHPC. The results indicate that either type of fiber can enhance the flexural tensile strength and the splitting tensile strength of normal concrete, however, glass fiber has better effect than polypropylene fiber. The influences of the two types of fibers on the compressive strength and on the early age free shrinkage of SCHPC are not distinctly different, but the compressive brittleness of SCHPC can be obviously improved by either type of fiber.At last, the author analyses the deficiency of the experiment and points out some improvement measures. Simultaneously, the author prospects the future application of glass fiber reinforced concrete and hybrid fiber reinforced concrete.
