With the development of national economy and the continuous improvement of people's life, electric power required more and more, which makes electric industry grow fast and electric network expand quickly. Because traditional technique and management means can't already adapt to the new situation, the new technique must be used.Power distribution system reconfiguration is one of the major ways to reduce network losses and improve reliability. It also is one of the primary functions of DMS. Network reconfiguration is a multi-objective nonlinear combinatorial optimization problem. As one part of the distribution automation, the application of reconfiguration is unfortunately very slow.Based on the practical conditions of power distribution networks in Guangfeng county, a new algorithm with which all kinds of operation restrictions are taken into account is presented in this paper, such as automation level of the local distribution network, the maximum time of switch and economic target functions. The algorithm includes the ideas of improved branch interchange and structure variable dissipated network. Some practical operation restrictions are calculated too.The program is designed using VB. At last, the examples of typical models and true example of Guangfeng distribution network are calculated to illustrate the feasibility of the method which shown the effectiveness and practicability of the proposed approach.
