Tied arch bridge, not only has a concinnity outline, but also is fit for buildings in the watery region and cities on the soft clay ground. However, because of the tie bars, the structural of tied arch bridge is much more complex, and the construction is much more difficult than normal bridge. Especially, the combination of arch and beam receives forces from many directions, such as, thrust of the arch, pull of the tie bars, supporting force of the whole bridge, making it more difficult to be analyzed.Based on the actual cloverleaf junction tied arch bridge in Chengdu, which has the largest span in China at present, we organized a modeling experiment of the combination of arch and beam, to analysis the bridge's internal forces, especially forces of the combination of arch and beam, to instruct designing and exercising.Based on the structural mechanics capability of the arch bridge, finite element method, and similitude theory, and summarized the technique and achievement of corresponding bridge structure experiment, we had a research on theory analysis and modeling experiment of the combination of arch and beam. The practical work is as following:First, designed modeling of the combination of arch and beam in found of the similitude theory. Second, calculated the actual bridge internal forces based on the plane and special finite element program. Third, making sure the experiment effect, decided the survey points and load styles. Fourth, compared the actual stress to calculating results of the controlling section under different load style. Last, created a model to analysis the stress of the changed section of arch rib, the cross section of the beam, and the combination of arch and beam, and concluded the actual responding load of the bridge, under the large-scale finite element analysis program ANSYS.
