Design And Realize Some Key Technology Of Provincial Highway Information Management System

Highway, one of the basic traffic facilities, relating to the development of the national economy directly. Since the Reforming and Opening-up, In our country, the rapid development of highway construction, the increasingly improvement of road grade and the extending of mile have made the management level of the road unable to meet the need of development of the road .So applying GIS (Geographic Information System) technique to the road construction and management of our country is a high-efficient and important foundation works of building the backbone of national road of our country and is one of the important means to push road construction and management into modernization. This paper analyzes in detail and intensively researches some key technologies of realizing provincial highway information management system.Provincial highway data has three character: many sources, wide cover and great capacity of data, So organization and management of data is a key to realize highway information management system. The distribution of Highway geographic information are linear and multilayer. That's to say, the same highway has multilayer information. For example, One highway information includes road grade, pave material and road width, and the length and position of the segmentation divided by every information are different. So, how to dynamically divide road by these information are important content of system. In our country, the road department generally adopt milepost to administer highway. But the spatial data is stored with geographic coordinates and plane coordinates. Therefore founding positioning reference system of highway milepost is key technologies to realize provincial highway information management system. Because the administrators of road department are not professional in GIS, map has to be symbolized and system must provide the function of cartography and output of highway theme mapSo, organization and management of data ,positioning reference system highway milepost, dynamic segmentation, symbolizing of map and output of highway theme map are some of key technologies of realizing provincial highway information management system. So this paper has analyzed those technologies in detail, and has discussed methods of their realization. In the same time, those methods are applied to Hunan province highway information management system. In the end, this paper gives the system result and summarizes the problems existing in the system and achievements with the system and brings forward a few advices for the development of the system in the future.
