A Way Of The Protection And Development To Traditional Districts In Middle And Small Towns

China has a long history with lots of culture legacies. Traditional districts of middle and small towns have a high position in the course of Chinese urbanization. It is very important to conserve those districts.First, in the thesis, the background of the studying, the practical significance and the way of the studying are expounded, and the concept of traditional districts of middle and small towns is defined. The experiences of protection and realization of traditional districts in foreign countries are summarized. Furthermore some questions lying in Chinese traditional districts are summarized. Second, on the basis of those, the way of the protection on material culture legacies and nonmaterial culture legacies, how to update the living environment and how to develop the tourism trade are described.
