The velocity of design production has become more and more important with the market competition being strong continually, further more our tradition engineering trade is short of the capacity to compete in the market, because needing long time to design new products, higher cost on design and so on and so forth. Virtual Prototype Technology is applied in the field of the design of Tunnel Segment Erecting Robot machine to satisfy the market competition requirement of construction engineering enterprise in the parper. The dissertation anslyses its characteristics and advantages, and use it to research the field of Tunnel Segment Erecting Robot, which is including five parts.Firstly, introduce the backdrop and intention of research this project, consult the study actuality and improvement trend of Tunnel Segment Erecting Robot; look back Virtual Prototype Technology in our nation and on adroad, to argument the significance of study the project by using this technology.Secondly, the method to build the virtual Tunnel Segment Erecting Robot prototype is given in this paper. The VP is composed of simulation models of subsystem. The virtual prototyping process is based on the early cooperation of experts from disciplines and then the final integration of modules from these concurrent tasks.Thirdly, build the entity model of Tunnel Segment Erecting Robot by the software of CATIA.Fourthly, study the means to exchange datas from the software of CATIA to the software of ADAMS, and switch the model by this way, .Then build the hydraulic control system with ADAMS/Hydraulics to carry out the virtual Tunnel Segment Erecting Robot prototype.Finally, coupling and simulation the mechincal system and it hydraulic control system, analyse the results , and then optimize the design of the hydraulic control system.
