The21st century is the development and utilization of underground space of thecentury, all the countries value the development and utilization of underground space moreand more, and underground construction machine is also rapid development. TBM as amajor underground construction equipment has been widely used in various types of citysubways, highway tunnels, crossing the river tunnels and urban water supply and drainagesystem construction. As the core function component of TBM, segment erector hasimportant effect on the whole underground construction. Therefore, good performance ofthe segment erector is very important.In this paper, research and analysis segment erector are based on3.2m multi-functiontesting machine of Shenyang North Heavy Industry Group TBM State Key Laboratory. Inthis paper, the main results of research as follows:(1) This paper briefly introduces the type and working principle of the shieldtunneling machine and research situation of the segment erector in our nation and onabroad. Then it highlighted introduces the basic structure, working principle and the formof segment assembly of ะค3.2m miniature earth pressure balance shield tunneling machinesegment erector system.(2) The segment erector machine design scheme has been determined according to thedesign principles and parameters. The key components of the segment erector have beentheoretically calculated. The entity model of mechanism has been obtained on three-dimensional modeling software SolidWorks by measuring the actual site and accessing torelevant technical data and drawings. Then the segment erector has been virtual assembledin a correct and rational way.(3) The key components of the segment erector have been analyzed based on the finiteelement analysis software ANSYS Workbench. The rationality of structural design hasbeen tested by finite element analysis results. Gear transmission mechanism, as the key components of the rotating mechanism, has been analyzed based on contact fatiguestrength finite analysis. The optimization design of the mechanism is studied in order tosave material and space and cut down the cost of production. The stability of the piston rodis analyzed to determine the amount of deformation and stability under the pressure ofdesign work.
