The thesis relys on the research of the optimal schedule system of Central China Grid Company Limited , which includes seven hydro-power plants, such as Three Gorges ,Gezhouba and QingJiang cascade hydro-chain etc. The thesis emphasises on applicational research and maneuverability. All of the theories except chapter 3 ware applied to the optimal system engineering of Central China Grid Company Limited. The first half part of the thesis concentrates on the optimal dispatch model and short-term schedule model. The last half part expatiates on the development of the optimal system and technical details. At the beginning of the thesis, an introduction to the development of short-term optimal schedule arithmetics ware presented in chapter 1, a discussion about the advantages and shortcomings of every optimal schedule arithmetics was gived, a summary about the thesis was listed. In chapter 2, an arithmetic of unit commitment including time limmits was developed, a real instance was applied to testified the unit commitment arithmetic. Chapter 3 applys hopfield ANN into short-term schedule of hydro-power plants, a standard example was developed. A method of mapping cascade hydro-chain into hopfield ANN was developed in the chapter. Chapter 4 emphasises on the framework of software system and function analysis . In order to improve the quality of software system and control the schedule of development of optimal schedule system, the method software engineering was applied. The last chapter gives some technical details about the optimal system.
