The electric industry is changing the operation mode from monopolistic mode to commercial operation mode by introducing the competition mechanism and regarding market as the direction. How to perfect the dispatch function of power system and strengthen the effect and status of economic dispatch, especially to make the economic dispatch schedule under the incomplete power market, is an important issue need to be solved.Economic dispatch is a developing research. Several kinds of commonly used economic dispatch methods like the priority method, dynamic planning method and Lagrange relaxation method for traditional power system and methods for power market like merit-order method, equal bidding price method, network flow programming method and linear programming method have been proposed and used in the past. But these methods can't meet the demand of the development of economic dispatch for their intrinsic shortcomings, modern bionic methods such as particle swarm optimization algorithm(PSO) are introduced into this area. Based on the research on PSO and its improved algorithms, the combination of BPSO and CPSO respectively used to solve the sub-optimizations of unit commitment and load distribution is proposed and the simulation shows the validity of this method.Daily dispatch schedule is the most important part of economic dispatch. It must consider aspects like transmission loss and the characteristics of power system. To satisfy the characteristics of incomplete power market, a new method to make and adjust daily dispatch schedule considering transmission loss allocation is proposed. Based on the theoretical study of economic dispatch in this paper, the design scheme of economic dispatch decision support system based on J2EE is introduced in detail. The successful realization of this system is of great practical value to economic dispatch under incomplete power market condition.
