The Rational Selection Of Foundation Type In The Downtown Area Of Jiaxing

Subgrade and foundation engineering is a kind of concealed work, which is located under the ground surface. Its type, design and construction have great impact to the building safety. If there is an accident arise from subgrade and foundation engineering, it is very difficult to remedy, and even more impossible. The principal character and constitution of foundation soil in the Jiaxing' s downtown area were summarized in this paper. The engineering geological conditions in this zone were divided rationally, including analysis and evaluation. The natural foundation and the pile foundation(such as caisson pile, flat foot bell-out pile, pre-cast pile, pre-stressed pipe pile, etc) in this zone were summarized and analyzed, at the same time, the suitable conditions of foundation treatment were generalized. On the basis of summarization and analysis of the common problems arise from the foundation design and execution in the zone, the most suitable foundation type and foundation treatment method for different kind of building was presented in this paper.
