Online reactive power optimization control system is one of the most important control methods to ensure power system operation securely and economically, and an effective measure to improve the voltage profile and reduce the loss. Research of reactive power optimization has the great significance in theory and practical application.Reactive power optimization is a large-scale nonlinear optimization problem with a large number of variables and uncertain parameters, the operating variables include continuous and discrete variables, so the optimization becomes very complex. The thesis analysises the superiority of genetic algorithm in dealing with discreate variables and primal-dual interior point method in dealing with continuous variables, and brings forward a discoupled combined algorithm which is based on the equipment control priority and take advantage of genetic algorithm and primal-dual interior point method, and the emulator of IEEE-30 bus system validates the fesability of the discoupled combined algorithm. Pratical improved strategy for algorithm and control module is needed to satisfy the requirement of online reactive power optimal control system. Pratical algorithm stategy includes: (Dpratical genetic algorithm strategies in order to improve global converge ability and speed, ?discoupled combined algorithm harmony strategies. Control strategies include pratical algorithm control strategies and close loop security control strategies.HeiLongjiang province power grid AVC system is designed, now on open loop operation and is based on improved genetic algorithm and pratical strateies. The thesis introduces in detail the structure of system, function module, and interface. The practical application results show that the action of control equipments is rational, the times of disperse equipment action are less, the voltage qualification rate can be effectively improved and the network loss is reduced and this application is successful.
