The reform of the electric power industry at the time of bringing the in many ways economic performance also caused the mergence of a series of new problem. Among them, congestion management is highly anticipated because of the huge influence to the safe and stability of system. This paper is presented to study how to purchase electricity from power plants with minimize cost on the premise of satisfying security constraints, electric energy quality and users'requirements.This paper is presented introduced the background, history and present condition of the reforms of electric power market, and the electric power industry of our country first. Then, it is proposed in this paper an optimal algorithm of eliminating the congestion in power market according to the quoted price of each unit. Based on the practical quoted price bandy of units, it aims at minimizing the total cost of the power, while taking the power flow equations as its constraints of equality and the power limits of each branch as its constraints of inequality. Thus, guarantee at the time of removing the circuit to jam, get superior of economy circulate the project. End, introduced the application of the interior point algorithm of following up centering locus in OPF. Compared with the Gradient method and the Newton's method, the interior point algorithm of following up centering locus calculation to in brief fast, astringency good, the robustness is high.The results of the IEEE9 system and the IEEE30 system show that the presented algorithm is correct and effective.
