The Research Of Intelligent Motor Protector Based On DSP

The production process is broken frequently because the motor in operation is damaged, which is caused by abnormally running conditions. The intelligent motor protector can be used, which will protect the abnormally running motors from damage, to minimize the malfunction time and reduce the economic losses. This paper analyzes some faults such as overload, phase failure, ground, locked rotor and short-circuit which may happen in the running process of motor thoroughly, and presents the rational integrated protection scheme of motor. A new intelligent motor protector which hardcore is DSP is designed. The protector can realize many functions such as overload protection, phase failure protection, ground protection, locked rotor protection and short-circuit protection. And many disadvantages of routine protectors are made up. Finally, the paper studies the communication module design on the basis of CAN bus thoroughly. By the CAN transceiver PCA82C250, the system has realized the CAN field bus communication, and met the need of intelligence, digital, and network of protector equipment. This kind of product can bring benefit to control system of switchboard owing to the perfect function and high reliability. It can bring not only huge social benefit, but also considerable economic benefit.
