Deployable structures are structures which can be reduced in size for transportation or storage, and then automatically deployed, which researched form 1960s.In the recent ten years, the study of deployable structures make more progress promoted by scholars of Cambridge University and NASA.The applications of the deployable structures concept are expanded to many areas ,especially in space. In civil engineering, the development of deployable structures combined with the new structure systems, for example ,the tensegrity structures, the retractable structures and so on.The more stable and more reliable deployable structures will be developed. To study the deployable structures, it is necessary to research the kinematics and dynamics of deployable structures ,to analyse the position ,velocity ,acceleration and dynamic response and so on. This thesis deals with the deployment of deployable structures, based on the dynamics of multibody systems.Firstly, The deployable structures are classified in this paper by the deployment modes, based on summarizing and studying the deployable structures forms at present and other people researchs.Secondly, the dynamics of multibody systems model about deployable structures is put forward .And then, the author constituted a constraint library ,which is convenient to set up the systems constraint equations by selecting the corresponding constraint. After that ,the numerical methods about identifying and eliminating the redundancy constraints and solving the dynamic control equaitions is researched. Finally, the example verify the accuracy and effectivity of the mechanical analytical model and analytical methods presented in this thesis.
