A typical application in ventilate engineering, the air curtain, provides, through its special air distributing machine, jetting airflow with certaintemperature and speed to slack a certain volume of working space, in order toreduce or block off the invasion of outside air or harmful substance, and forthe purpose of keeping the work area a good meteorological condition. In this designing issue, it's the proportioned air ducts, the keystone in theair curtain designing and calculation, who determines directly the efficiencyand the technical and economic parameter of the air curtain.Being a combination of programming in mathematics and informationtechnology, the optimization of design improves greatly the quality of thedesign and it also shortens the time-cycle. For that purpose, this paper, basedon the uncompressed air flowing theory, use the methods of non-linearprogramming and multi-objective optimization. The proportioned air ducts ofair curtain is optimized and simulated, in this paper, with the powerfulfunction of calculation and image manipulation offered by MATLAB. Themain research works are as follow:1,A proportioned air ducts model for air curtain was established andanalyzed in this paper, its integrated parameters were optimized. Thereliability and applicability of the result are confirmed through the comparisonwith the products from the manufacturers;2,The above mentioned works programmed in MATLAB;3,The simulation of the result of optimization. The research works of this paper provides a simple way of the air curtaindesigning;it thus serves as a useful reference for the efficiency and qualityimprovement in air curtain designing.
