Flood is frequent in Tianjin, south of Tianjin is severe short of water at the sametime, in order to resolve both of the problems, floodwater resources utilization is aneffective approach. There are two ways can bring floodwater resources utilization insouth of Tianjin to success: first, when the south area encountered a year that full ofwater, then, storage the water in the Beidagang Reservoir. Second, when the southarea encountered a year that short of water but the north is full of water, then, channelthe floodwater from the north to the south.Water storage and flood dispatch in south of Tianjin is modeled using numericalmodel of river network unsteady flow. The water storage of Beidagang Reservoir andthe optimal mode of the real-time flood dispatch are studied under four kinds ofboundary conditions.The west line of channel water from the north to the south for two conditions ismodeled using numerical model of river network unsteady flow. It put forward theworking mode of Yaotangzi Pump Station and the water storage of the BeidagangReservoir.When modeling river system in south of Tianjin, Haihe River participating inflood discharge only in two conditions for it's special situation, in order to washingout rivers and reducing flood discharge pressure of Duliujian River. The optimal jointoperations of the three gates on Haihe River are obtained considering scheme of flooddispatch in Tianjin.
