Working purpose:To undertake objective studies on park types and their complementary roles in localcultural context.In the context of urban and urban culture, correlative analysis was carried out for parktypes, in a hope to find park design clues from urban resources.To the project as an opportunity to study local cultural history & context, usingcultural study approach and methodology.Initial researches were undertaken to some latest eco-landscape technology, withemphasis on the capabilities between suitable technology and the project.Research method:The first part consentrad on project design itself;The second part focuses ontechnology issues evolved from the design.1. Elabrated using tools of investigation, analysing and refining;2. Starting from the technology sides of the Cultural Park.The discussion was developed into the applied technology of broader sense, followedby detailed research into two specific technics.Result & ConclusionThe research has explored sustainabale eco-landscape, To implement waterpurification using artificial "wetland" system, and advocate roof planting system toimprove building's impact upon the urban.Taking Garden City's approach, the research also attempt to provide solution for newcity plan & urban regeneration.Methods has been explored to design building integreted with theirsurroundings—naturally grown forms.To provide a venue for culturalactivities which will assist in the growth anddiversification of the Shanghai's arts, industry and reinforce Shanghai's image as aworld city of a dynamic character and energy with a creative edge.The research attempts to use the Cultural Park project as a vehicle and model toexplore new structures & technology.
