Central air conditioning is mainly used in large public buildings such as officebuildings, business buildings, medical treatment buildings and train stations. Asmaking appropriate temperature and relative humidity, central air conditioning has itsown disadvantage. Microbe can propagate in the cooling coil, and, during the processthat a part of indoor air reused, the air is easy to be contaminated, which can causemicrobe propagating.Metal fill is widely used in evaporative cooling and gas absorption, by itsexcellent capability. I mainly study on the filtration performance and Sterilizationperformance, and discuss the feasibility of metal fill filter replacing the traditionalmiddle efficiency filter.The experiment device is based on the standard filter test bed. Through two stepsexperiment, I get the filtration and Sterilization performance at different water volumeand airflow, and then draw the conclusion, as following shows:The filtration efficiency fluctuates with water volume and airflow's changing, andis commonly more than 75%. The filtration efficiency is low, when the particle'sdiameter is smaller than 1 μm, but it may be caused by the sampling theory.The metal filling filter has high sterile efficiency that is higher than 90%, which isclose to the filtration performance between 5μm~10μm.Finally, with my research, I believe metal fill filter must have a glory future,which is using as central air conditioning's filter unit.
