To adapt to the social development of the new century, the city water supplying industries of our country should target on improving the water quality through technical progress and managing enhancement, to narrow the water quality gap with developed countries. Those key cities and areas with good conditions should try their best to approach or attain the advanced world standard of water quality. The National Standard of water supply quality issued by constructive department in 2005 said that the water quality standard be divided into three levels, according to the location of the city, its character ,economic level as well as the water supply potential. It also clearly defined that domestic drinking water is directly supplied by centralized water supply unit, and the water should be used as drinking water and domestic water. Compared with the old Standard, the new one required 35 more items to101, and the restricts are stricter. Thus posed more new tasks to the running of the water plants,as well as its technical innovation and the security of water quality in distribution system. In order to give some advice on improving the water quality supplied by distribution system, this text dealed with the current distribution system of TianJin City and investigated the factors that affect the distribution system of water supply from three aspects. Firstly, base on the study of the current running of Tianjin water supply distribution system, this text investigated the change of the water-level in the distribution system as well as its affected factors. It pointed out the main factors that affect the water quality supplied by Tianjin distribution system. The factors included ion erosion, biologic jam, sedimentation of suspension, distribution system of water supply, instruments of secondary water-supply and execution control. Secondly, aimed at the current distribution system, the text put forward some measures to improve the water quality of distribution system. It specially pointed out the application of new technology and new material in improving water quality of distribution system. Finally, combined with the practical project it simply introduced the function of membrane separation technique in the improvement of water quality.
