The divergent effect of additive Polyethylene Glyeol 6000,Sodium dodecyl benzenesulfonate , Hexadecyltrimethylammonium bromide(PEG-6000 , SDB , CTAB) in thepreparation process of LaCoO3 have been studied by means of Particle-size distribution. Thefunction and the mechanism of additive PEG-6000 in the preparation process of LaCoO3 viacoprecipitation have been studied by means of TEM,Particle-size distribution ,IRspectrum ,zeta potential measurements. The suitable additive amount (2%,ω) has been alsodetermined by means of viscosity measurements. The experiment results show thatagglomeration of precursor has been reduced by the steric effect of PEG-6000 absorbed on it,and powders quality has been greatly influenced by the amount of PEG-6000 used .Thewell-dispersed LaCoO3 ultrafine powders can be obtained by adding suitable amount ofPEG-6000 (2%,ω). This research method can be used in the preparation of other ultrafinepowders with precipitation method.When LaCoO3 powders were added in Nitramine propellant, burn velocity of propellantcan be enhanced effectively, the platform burning effect in 14 16MPa pressure scope can begenerated, and the pressure index of propellant was also reduced. Catalysis of LaCoO3 will befurther enhanced through being doped or carried on the carrier farther and so on.
