In the beneficial cycle of mutual promotion and development in economy and traffic, our highway construction has been developed rapidly in recent 10 years, and the total mileage of road is respectively increased. With plenty of achievement, the amount of roads is huge, but the quantity is inadequate in present situation. Under the synthetic factors of overloaded transport and large temperature variance of year, the early damage of pavement is especially serious. Asphalt mixture reinforced by polyester fibers is a new composite material, and it can improve the mechanical performance effectively and extend the lifetime of pavement, such as high-temperature stability, low-temperature crack resistance, fatigue resistance, etc.By the test and design for resilient and dynamic modulus of asphalt mixture reinforced by polyester fiber, the new material is further studied in the paper. At first, the resilient modulus of the asphalt mixture is gained by means of static test method. Based on the test method, the dynamic modulus of the material is measured under the dynamic loads. The variations between volume fraction of fiber, and compressive strength, resilient and dynamic modulus of asphalt concrete reinforced by fiber, have been acquired. Just considering improving modulus factors of pavement, the reasonable volume ratio of fiber is 0.2%~0.25%.At last, referring to the relationship of static and dynamic modulus for AC-13 asphalt mixture reinforced by fibers, which is obtained by test, a road sector of Liaoning region has been designed using static and dynamic parameters respectively. Considering the influencing factors such as design modulus, design deflection and the option of deflection correct coefficient, the relatively reasonable method designed by dynamic parameter is derived: the design modulus is dynamic modulus;the design deflection uses dynamic deflection;the correct coefficient F of static deflection is deleted. By means of the approach, the asphalt mixture pavement reinforced by polyester fiber has been designed through static and dynamic parameters. The results show the economy and application of the new material.
