In this article an axial-flow fan's performance of a certain helicopter cooling system was tested and analyzed. The helicopter system restrict axial-flow fan with power, weight, size etc., so the study raise the performance of the fan under limitation condition.First, performance of the axial-flow fan was tested. And then the fan of single rotor and fan with support board were calculated with numerical simulation. The result of calculation compared with experiment. It's satisfies with experiment result. It proves that the calculation is reliable and it is helpful for the furthermore analysis of flow characteristic.Performance was compared with single rotor and fan with support board, and flow analyzed in support passage. The support board was found to have significant impact on the performance of axial-flow fan, and there were complex flow separate and second flow in the support board passage. The optimization design was performed for the support board based on numerical result and flow analysis. In addition, three-dimensional flow analysis is carried out to verify the performance improvement of the new support board. It is found that with the new support board the efficiency of the fan is improved over the entire range of mass flow, the losses are reduced and the flow in support board passage become more reasonable.
