Medium and long term load forecasting is the basis of power system planning andconstruction. Exact degree of load forecasting will directly affect the rationality ofinvestment, network layout and running.This paper firstly gives a summary for present method of load forecasting. Then adeep research into fuzzy variable combination forecasting is carried through. And withthe help of the MATLAB Fuzzy toolbox we can inference the variable weights. Thecalculation example shows that this method can greatly improve forecasting precision.The last but not least, on the basis of the research of traditional methods which combinessome new developments and harvests in the field of load forecasting at present,developed a set of load forecasting software with Visual C++. In addition, aimed at theproblems of the low precision of the industry-classified load forecasting, this paper putforward a method of using forecasted proportional coefficient and coinstantaneouscoefficient. The practical application shows this method is more scientific and haspractice application value in projects.
