Research On Detecting Algorithm And Software Of Monitoring GIC

Magnetic storm may induce Geomagnetic Induced Current in the power grids. GIChas a series of harmful influences to the power system, for example in recent yearstransmission systems with long distance and high voltage in our country were alreadydiscovered to be influenced by GIC;Therefore, it has vital significance to study GICproblem in Chinese power grids. This paper mainly studies monitoring technology ofGIC in grids, firstly discusses establishes the GIC monitor network in our countryunifying present situation and the prospect of our modern big power grids, and analyzesharm degree to electrical equipment by GIC providing for us to propose the method ofpreventing and controlling GIC finally;secondly completes the software and hardwaredesign of GIC monitoring system and the problem of signal gathering, processing,storing and so on;thirdly elaborates the analysis algorithm to the GIC signal basing onthe mechanism and its the characteristic of GIC;finally examines the target &performance of the equipment through running this equipment in a 220kV transformersubstation of Hunan Chenzhou.
