Network topology analysis is one of the bases for power systems operating, analyzing and controlling. The research on it is of great value in theory and application. It also is the base of other advanced software of the Distribution Management System.In this paper, the network topology of power system is divided into two parts: part one including the network among power plants and substations;part two including main electrical connections. The logic bus/branches connection gains are obtained from main electrical connection with the state-space model , The same time use an adjacent matrix of power systems network, receive the connections of the network among power plants and substations. A selection method of power systems about a tree is proposed basing on adjacent matrix;some definitions and laws on loops including branches and cotrees are put forward;the cotrees loop criterion is described;the calculating procedure of cotrees loop is given. The topology of power systems network reconfiguration is tracked rapidly by this way.
