Power quality is always not ideal in the actual system because of kinds of reasons. In thepower system, the asynchronous motors take up more than 90% in the whole motor loads, andover 60% in the whole electric power loads. So the research on the characteristic andefficiency of asynchronous motors, in different power quality modes is vital and essential.In this dissertation, the influences on the characteristic of the typical electric powerloads--asynchronous motors under non ideal conditions such as voltage deviation, harmonics,three phases unbalance, voltage sag etc, are summarized. The efficiency of asynchronousmotors is analyzed under different non ideal supply conditions, along with the power factor ofthe asynchronous motors under voltage deviation being researched. Build in the MATLABpower system block with the basic electric power components and control components, themodel of asynchronous motors is used to simulate the characteristic of the asynchronousmotor in different modes, especially in the voltage sag mode. At last, the designed Simulationsoftware which used to design for the power system harmonic filters and VAR compensatorsis introduced. Both cases of calculation and simulation show that the designed software isuseful and effective.
