Dissertation Of The Transformation From 'Existential Space' To Digital Architecture Form

The form of architecture is not generated inborn, but is the result of extemalization of inherent apperception, which is on the basis of stable psychological pattern been created by the interaction between people and survival environment. This thesis compares and analyzes the original basis of architecture creation in the digital era through the spirit substance and content structure which is derived from Schulz's theory of 'existential space', emphasizes the karma relationship that from the 'existential space' to practical architecture substantially, and responds the relevancy of the transformation by the substantial physical characters of digital architecture. This paper begins with the recognizing of the relationship between humans and environment, and then expatiates on the transformation of human's behavior and ways of thinking that derived from the translation of human's survival circumstance. Making the mentioned above as a common premise, the author then analyzes the feature evolution of 'existential space' in the virtual environment that generated by digital and information technology from three composing elements of 'existential space' as Place, Path and Domain. Finally, the author analyzes how the digitalized 'existential space' bring on the emergence of new architecture form, namely review the reification of 'existential space' in the digital architecture, and concludes the modality character of digital architecture and which main generation mechanism and method as well.
