Power assembly is the main vibration and noise source of automobile. Proper design of the engine mounting system can improve the riding comfort as well as extend the service life of engine and other components. In this paper, the engine (YC4112ZLQ) mounting system of the bus (KLQ6795) has been deeply studied. A dynamics mode with 6 DOFs of the mounting system is established and its simulation mode is also established with ADAMS software. The main design parameters such as: major exiting force and torque, the location of mass center and the moment of inertia of the power assembly are measured by experiments, and are inputted to the simulation mode in order to get the natural characteristics of the engine mounting system. With theories and experiments the natural characteristic of the engine mounting system is analyzed, and the main reason of fierce vibration of the KLQ6795 bus is found. Stroke center theory and energy theory are used for the analysis of the disadvantages of the original mounting system, and the theoretical basis of improving the vibration isolation ability of mounting system is afforded.A series of mounting rubbers is designed with the orthogonal design and simulated in ADAMS software, the optimal mounting rubbers is got.
