Qiling Pump Station of Dongshen Water Supply Project uses open channel unsteady flow and adapts method of characteristics to calculate open channel unsteady flow accompany with the depth and speed of water during the hydraulic transients.We build our mathematic model by the diversion works of open channel project of Qiling Pump Station, compute the large mount of pump's hydraulic transition process of Qiling Pump Station at the conditions when pump station stop working within 10,50, and 300 seconds respectively. After summarizing and analyzing, we get some useful inspirations and research achievements.1. when pump station reject within the same time, the channel flow emerges surge and the highest water level produced by surge declines gradually. The most dangerous circumstance for channel is the first surge when pump station stops working.2. the highest water level of typical section from downstream to upstream reduces when the load ejection time is the same.3. at the conditions of different load ejection time and specific section, the shorter load ejection time, the higher water level produced by the water channel and the faster to appear the highest water level.We can use the theory in project. But we must care for to use the assumptions.
