With the development of our country economy, more and more super high buildings are being built. While its beauties attract the attention of the people and they provide sufficient and comfort space to our people, it is very important to evaluate and insure its safety (non-collapse) during severe earthquake. Based on the design experience and research of super high structures, this paper studied the research method for the high structures during severer earthquake. The analysis of the structure in elastic stage is carried out firstly, because this is the first step of the seismic design, the section and its reinforcement of structure members are designed with model analysis method so the structure can satisfy the strength and deformation requirement in the occupant period. Following the above, the analysis of the structure during severe earthquake should be implemented according to the code for seismic design of building. There are two methods to analyze the structure during severe earthquake, one is static non liner analysis (push-over) and another is dynamic non liner analysis (time history) method. Pushover is simple and direct and it has a wide application at present, especially for the structure whose reaction mainly reflect the first model and the load applied on the structure is of reverse triangle or rectangular shape. For the super high structure, the influence of high mode is of importance;the way to apply the load should be studied further so the analysis result can satisfy the design requirement. Dynamic non-linear analysis, i.e., time history method proceeds from the beginning to the end of the earthquake. It can compute the reaction of the structure at each moment of the earthquake wave. This method takes the reaction of the structure and the earth wave as a constant value;the reaction of the structure is the function of time. But the earthquake is a random action and so it is the reaction of the structure, then different earthquake wave give different reaction, the more suitable earthquake record (having a good coherence with thereaction- spectrum in statistical meaning) you use, the better outcome you can obtain. This analysis method needs more workload, but in spite of this shortage, its application has a splendid future with the development of computer technology. On the basis of the result, the super high building structure is analyzed and the result is satisfactory and useful to the design work.
