Exploration Of Living Building Design Technique Based On The Traditional Culture

With the development of modern design, more and more excellent designers realize the importance of indigenous culture to design. China has a 5000 years' culture, thus forms an aesthetic ideology based on Confucianism and Taoism. In Chinese traditional design and arts, harmonious and artistic conception's aesthetics and artistic conception's aesthetics were emphasized on, which creating a characteristic aesthetic ideology of Harmonizing Human and Nature. The traditional ideology runs through Chinese living building and makes it a profound art thesaurus.Nowadays, we are in a time full of manifold culture which is in intercommunication, intercommunication and integration. Through the regeneration of traditional element, designers can combine contemporary idea with traditional culture to creat design works of individuation.This paper is divided to seven chapters .The first chapter expounds the awakening of the regional civilization, and the conservation of the native residence culture. In the second chapter, the space of living is elaborated briefly, and the ideas of the living space are introduced: we need to back for the natural space, adapting the people's behavior, which is with high taste, high culture, and high passion. Then, in the third chapter, I recommend the development course of Chinese resident architecture: from the settlement in agriculture era, to the hardship of the residence in P. R. China, and the "European style" architectures, nowadays the concept of "new Chinese style" living building is raised, which I discuss from the engender reasons and significance. The forth chapter discuss the root of "new Chinese style" living building. Experiencing the development of the thousand years, traditional house engendered the various kinds of architectural modes and space form. All these contact tightly with the traditional culture. I analyze the cultural factors from the mentalities of "theConfucian, Taoism and Buddhism". And the language of traditional house is divided to the emptiness space, the entity space and gardens. In the fifth chapter, I induce the Confucian to the humanism, Taoism to the naturism and Buddhism to the psychologism, and from these ideas, I analyze the emptiness space, the entity space and gardens which base on the traditional culture, then the elements that can be used for reference are abstracted. At the same time, I attempt to raise the concept of "the sixth facade". In the sixth chapter, analyzing some examples by two methods succeeded traditional house in "new Chinese style" living building, similarity in form and in spirit, I summarized some specific design technique by graphs. The last, in seventh chapter, I summarize the paper, and draw a conclusion: "new Chinese style" living building is not just a wind, it is a exploration in succeeding our native culture and nationality. From now on, it is not just in luxury residences, it can be enjoyed by our people.
