Study On Mosque Buildings In NingXia

Ningxia is the most important area links between the east and the west.It is also the route of the old Silk Road. The economy communication among Greece, Persia India and Hinterland is branded in this area, and it is a big smelting of nation and culture.The diversity culture influences the architecture in this area.Islamic architecture is the typical and valuable architecture heritage in Ningxia.The historical worthiness, culture worthiness, artistic worthiness and religion worthiness of Islamic architecture is being more and more regarded with the implement of "exploitation in west area". The development of economy is sometimes go with the destroying of entironment and literae humaniores, espacially in the unenlightened area .How to protect and inherit the thousand years culture at the same time ameliorate the inhabitancy condition with the implement of "exploitation in west area ".It is a task of waiting to be settled.The subject of this dissertation manly focuses on the mosque architecture in Ningxia. For instance, the Grand Mosque of Tongxin, which lies in TongXin county, Mosque of Najiahu and Mosque of Wangyuan, which lies in YongNing county. Among them, the Tongxin Mosque, Najiahu Mosque and Wangyuan Mosque are the provincial monuments. Although the mosques were repaired many times they were better conserved. This study can enrich the treasury of Moslem architecture, and provide a detailed data for the study on history of Chinese Moslem in building aspect.The thesis describes the history and development of Islamic architecture at the first, farther more the writer analyzes the geographical entironment and historical background of mosque architecture in NingXia. Secondly it analyzes and studys the typical style of this architecture, such as the Grand Mosque of Tongxin, Mosque of Najiahu and Mosque of Wangyuan. With the Moslem cultural and history of NingXia background, this thesis discusses and demonstrates the history of evolution, location and environment, the whole layout, single architecture, decoration characteristics of the mosque in NingXia. At last, we can get the common plane mode constructed technique of mosque in Ningxia. On the basis of analyzing and contrasting the present architectures, it discusses reservation of architectures' layout of the mosque. It puts forward that the meaning of reservation and protection was to protect the history and religion value of the mosque in NingXia. It also points out that protection work of the mosque in NingXia consists of the protection of the master plan of historical and cultural's structure.
