Waste styro-foam is a kind of chemical material with stability properties, larger volume and difficult to resolve by itself. Now it causes very great danger to environment. So it is very important to recycl and utilize waste styro-foam .Modified polystyrene through chemical methods to reuse is not only decreasing enviorement polluting but also developing direction of economic sociality.In this studying plasticizer was made by sulfonation and grafting polystyrene. Especially polycarboxylate-superlasticize was made through chemical modified polystyrene as is a new diection.The water-soluble sulfonation product was prepared by the sulfonation-modification of waste styro-foam.The effects of sulfonating agents on time of the sulfonation reaction was studied and the processing conditions were determined. In this subject for research performance parameters are involved in sulfonated degree, filling quantity, steam curing and so on. The optimized production and processing conditions were found. The result was showed that the best suitable filling quantity range was 0.5%-0.8%.The highest water-reduce rate was 18.4% and the fit for steam curing when filling quantity was 0.8%The sulphonating polystyrene plasticiser is a kind of low-priced and high-efficient plasticiser, While the more badly water-retaining property limits its application range , For this reason, according to the theory of the space obstacle in this research grafting polystyrene are made through a nitration, reduction, diazotization reaction route and initiated the acrylic acid polymerizing with being get grafting polystyrene. The molecular weight is 188,600 by WU viscidity equipment.Calculating grafting ratio is 87%, through concrete experiments, it is verified that water-retaining property is good, 1% filling quantity is the best to concrete, supreme water-reducing ratio is 23.2% andis fit for steam curing.In the research, the method polycarboxylate-superlasticizer was synthesized by grafting polystyrene was used for the first time .The experiment result proved that the method is possible.
