Recovery and reuse of waste polystyrene foam are being paid their attention to. In this paper, a novel effective cement water reducing agent SPS was synthesized by the sulfonation reaction of waste polystyrene plastic (PS) in 1,2-dichloroethane and cyclohaxane.The effects of different factors on sulfonation time and the yelid of water reducing agent such as reaction temperature, the amount of sulfonating agents, catalyst, and dispersion agent were measured by conditional test and orthogonal test. Additionally, the cement fluidity and water reduction ratio were determined.The experiment results show that the preferable reaction conditions in 1.2-dichloroethane are as follows, when the reaction temperature is 60°C, the amount of sulfonating agents is 12. 5ml, the amount of catalyst is 20ml. When the amount of SPS water reducing agent affixed is 0.8%, the cement fluidity reach 19 cm and water reduction ratio is 28%.The experiment results show that the preferable reaction conditions in cyclohaxane are as follows, when the reaction temperature is 86~91℃, the amount of dispersion agents is 3.25~4g, and the weight ratio of catalyst to polystyrene is 2.215%~2.25%. On this condition, the yelid of water reducing agent reach 12g, the cement fluidity reach more than 20 cm and water reduction ratio is over 24%.
