Study On Planning And Design Of Anshan And Songmei Commericial Pedstrain In Baotou City

A city comes from commercial activities, and the commercial center is a concentrated small society of the city. Therefore the flourish or downfall of the commercial center of a city is always a reflection of the development of a city.There are always fixed space configuration and architectural features for the traditional commercial streets. It plays the roles of not only shopping but also many kinds of social functions which represent local history, culture, architectural, religion, sight, folk custom, etc. Before cars appeared, the streets are not only be used traffic but also human activities, so they are the public center of a city.After cars appear, the streets of the city are not only a space for human activities but also a space for cars and human activities. In order to recovery the vitality of a city center and satisfy the requirement of safe and funny "strolling along the street", the commercial mall appears. The commercial mall either represents the permanent commercial culture in a traditional mode or reflects the spirit and flourish of a city in a modern mode. Compared with traditional commercial street, the function of the streets of a modern mall and the space configuration is more abundant and integrative, and is an important representation of the construction level, economic vitality and competition of the city.By analyzing the formation and development of the commercial mall, classification has been made based on the time, relationship with the traffic and space configuration. The emphasis is the relative issues regarding the planning of the commercial mall. Analysis for the main objects of the service, succession and development of cultures, space configuration of the streets, crowd distribution and traffic parking and characteristic of the architectures has been made.Based on the research of the historical evolution of the traditional commercial street and commercial mall and combined with my planning on the rebuilding of the Anshan and Songmei Commercial Mall, which are the commercial center of Baotou city, a study on how to make full use of the location and economy advantages under a precondition of integration of the global economy so as to create a flourish modern and active city center commercial mall which represents the local culture and folk customs has been made.
