The Maglev train is a special transportation system. Its velocity is between railway and avigation. It has the advantage of no pollution, placidity, rapidity and comfort, comparing with traditional vehicle. Therefore, it is potential modern transportation vehicle in the future. As the first commercial Maglev railway-Shanghai Maglev railway starts operation, it accelerates the Maglev development in China and all over the world. China has led the development, research and application of Maglev in the world.The thesis takes research and analysis on the traditional H type Maglev chopper. Aimed to several soft-switch converter structures, the thesis analyses their operation processes, simulated the converter structures by PSpice and compared their advantages and disadvantages.The thesis illustrates the design process of traditional H type chopper based on three soft-switch convertors. It gives circuit fundamental topologies. Its process is simulated by PSpice. The result proves that the soft-switch convertor can improve the switch characteristic of main circuit. It also can decrease the switch stress and current stress of switch equipment.
