Basing on the experiment local in Chang-an MSW landfill site, the stability mechanism, attenuation rules and cost analysis of semi-aerobic landfill was revealed in this paper.The result of the local experiment has indicated that, the concentration of the leachate of semi-aerobic landfill (LSL) is 69752.097mg/L lower than the anaerobic landfill is 83059.20mg/L and 97977.6mg/L, is Semi-aerobic landfill has a better character than anaerobic landfill in degration and stabilization. And the pH of semi-aerobic landfill leatchate always rebound at 8.00, and the water will never be acidified. The settlement can be divided into 3 phase: initial phase(dayl ~50), transition phase(day 51-121) and strengthened phase(day 122~), and only the third phase is aroused by the degradation of the refuse. Through building the mathematical model of the refuse degradation of COD_Cr , referrence in the national standard, the period of the stabilization can be predicted, leathate-reciculate semi-aerobic landfill has a advantage in degrade of contamination.At last, an example of Nanbu county is given, show that for the development of a 11.7-ha landfill with an estimated volume of 174.57m~3. Assuming that the lifespan of the landfill is 20 years, therefore, the total cost required to dispose of a tonne of waste at the semi-aerobic landfill was estimated to be 86.78yuan/tonne, contrast to the 114.51 yuan/tonne of anaerobic landfill. According to the rules of CDM, export the cut target of greenhouse gas can make extra profit of 125,706,000yuan..This paper is a good attempt for the semi-aerobic landfill. The test results and cost analysis have some use for reference in the future design, operation and administration of the semi-aerobic landfill.
