Wheel is the most important component of vehicle bogie and the mostly factor of vehicle running safety. Wheel/rail force testing is the very important tache of vehicle dynamics theory and practice, instrument wheelset technique is the most direct and efficient method for measurement of wheel/rail forces. Using instrument wheelset as the force sensor to test wheel/rail force has the maximal precision of all wheel/rail force testing measures. When evaluating vehicle dynamics performance and wheel/rail abrading and doing digression experiment study, instruments wheelset can not be superseded by any other.To measure the horizontal and the vertical force continuously with the instruments wheelset, the traditional method of signal acquisition, transmission and processing unit is transmitting strain electrical signal output of strain-guage transducer with manifold ring. This output will be amplified and transformred from analog signals to digital signals before delivering to the PC. The recent singlechip technology will be used in this system. Then the signal amplification, A/D conversion and signal processing will be completed near the wheelset. This method will decrease the wiring amount greatly. Also the anti-interference and the test precision will be enhanced .The thesis will introduce the composition of the system firstly and then give the whole study .After the analysis of the strain of wheelset, the selection where the strain-guage would be placed and test bridge will be introduced. The design of singlechip hardware circuit and communication program between the desktop PC and measuring system are also included. Lastly we give the result of experiment and the error analysis.
