The study object of the landslide is very complexgeologic body .It is necessary to investigate the geologicalenvironment for stability objective evaluation. The papershould not only study the engineering geologic conditions, rock mechanics characteristics, mechanism of slopedeformation and failure, but also analyse the influence of theproject to the slope stability. It is important significance thatwe ravel mechanisms of slope deformation and failure and putforward evaluation means about slope stability in order toprevent and control geological disaster. The paper is on the base of Tibet Jiang xiong reservoirengineering geological reconnaissance by The Chang chunwater conservancy reconnaissance design academe. The paperinvestigate engineering geologic conditions, slip stripengineering geological characteristics and rock physicsmechanics character, parameter through field, site testing andlaboratory test, and other means. The paper uses Monte-Carlomethod of the reliability theory and finite element method tostudy the stability of left dam mountain and mechanisms ofslope deformation and failure. The paper provides scientificbasis for the safe construction and normal work of Jiang xiongreservoir and the control of left dam mountain failure .Key content and analysis conclusions of the paper: (1)The deformation of landslide does not obviouslychange after various poor environments. Therefore, thestability of landslide is good before the Reservoir StoringWater and a large number of human activities. The landslidepore water pressure does not rise after the Reservoir StoringWater because good permeability and drainage conditions ofthe rock mass.(2)The paper analyses engineering geologicalcharacteristics of the slip strip and tests physics mechanicssoil.(3) The landslides are ancient landslides, mixed push andtraction landslide. The slide deformation failuregeomechanical model is Creep slide-tension. In Tibet Plateauspecial circumstances, the seasonal frozen soil has influenceon the deformation and failure of the landslide.(4) The paper uses finite element method to Simulatefailure regime. Stress concentration areas mainly lie intention stress zone, weak rock plasticity zone and shearingexport sectors. The analysis result of the finite element valuesimulation is consistent with the field investigation.(5) Choosing cohesion and friction angle, the paper usesMonte-Carlo method to study the stability of left dammountain. For landslide stability studies, reliability analysis ismore suitable than a simple the safety factor calculation. Thelandslide is the low-level hazard in the nature conditionbefore the Reservoir Storing Water and normal Water Levelcondition. Therefore, it is necessary to apply reinforcingmeasures and monitoring system.Originality innovation of this treatise : The paper usesMonte-Carlo method of the reliability theory and finiteelement method to study the stability of left dam mountainand mechanism of slope deformation and failure.
